About Apptavio
Apptavio designs and builds affordable custom iPhone and Android apps for small and medium-sized businesses in the UK, US and Europe. Before you commit to anything, we show you a free, personalised, interactive concept of your app built from your existing website.
What Apptavio does
Apptavio designs and builds custom mobile apps for small and medium-sized businesses. That means iPhone and Android apps for businesses such as pet groomers, garages, restaurants, salons, fitness studios, online shops and professional practices: businesses that already have a website and regular customers, but no app of their own.
We build booking apps, loyalty apps, shop apps, customer portals and simple service-management tools. We also look after apps once they are live, because phones, operating systems and store rules keep changing.
Why we start with a preview
Most small business owners are asked to buy an app they cannot see. They get a proposal, a list of features and a price, and they have to imagine the rest.
We think that is the wrong way round. So we start by showing you something real: a free, personalised, interactive app concept built from your existing public website. It uses your business name, your colours and the services or products you already describe online. You open it in a browser on your phone or computer and tap through it as if it were an app.
It is a concept, not a finished app. It is not in the App Store, and features like booking or payment are simulated. But it gives you something concrete to react to: what you like, what is missing, what your customers would actually use. Every concept is checked by a person before it is sent, and there is no obligation and no payment details involved.

How we work
- Plain language. We explain options, trade-offs and costs without jargon. If something is not worth building, we say so.
- Scope before price. After you have seen the concept, we agree what the first version should include. Only then do we quote. Our indicative starting price is from €1,499, but the final price depends on the number of screens, features, integrations, back-end work, user accounts, payments, notifications, device features such as camera or location, and ongoing maintenance.
- Small first versions. We prefer to launch a focused first version and improve it with real feedback, rather than build everything at once.
- You own your presence in the stores. App Store and Google Play developer accounts are set up in your business's name, so your app listing belongs to you.
Technology
Production apps are built with React Native, Expo and TypeScript. This lets one codebase serve both iPhone and Android, which keeps build and maintenance costs down for a small business. Where an app needs device features beyond what is available out of the box, native modules can be added.
Where your business already uses software, such as a booking system, an online shop platform, a CRM or a till system, we look at whether it offers an API we can connect to. Whether an integration is possible depends on that system, your plan with the provider and the permissions they allow.
What we won't do
Being honest about limits is part of the service:
- No guaranteed App Store approval. Apple and Google decide what is published in their stores. We build to their published guidelines and help you prepare a submission, but the final decision is theirs.
- No "your website in a box". Apple's guidelines discourage apps that are simply a repackaged website. We design apps that do something useful on a phone, such as booking, reordering, loyalty or account features.
- No fake reviews, ratings or testimonials. We will never invent customers, results or statistics, on this site or in your app listing.
- No promised sales increases. An app can make it easier for customers to book, buy and come back. It cannot guarantee revenue.
- No unrealistic deadlines. Timelines depend on scope, feedback and store review, and we will give you an honest estimate once scope is agreed.
Who we work with
We work with small and medium-sized businesses in the United Kingdom, the United States and Europe, including Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, the Nordic countries, Poland and Romania. Our website is written in British English first, with other languages added once they have been reviewed.
Typical clients run appointment-based or repeat-purchase businesses where an app makes everyday tasks easier for customers: booking the next visit, checking the status of a job, collecting loyalty stamps or reordering a favourite product.
